Welcome all current students, prospective students, and alumni to the Duke Black Law Students Association website! Duke BLSA is a tightly-knit group of intelligent, highly-motivated, and down-to-earth students of diverse backgrounds with a common goal to diversify the legal profession. Over the years, we have made strides in accomplishing this goal by developing our highly-talented students into successful alumni.

Duke BLSA uses the success of those who have come before us to ensure the success of those who are here and those who have yet to come. First, we have a mentoring program geared toward ensuring academic achievement and adjustment to the Duke Law community. Second, we work closely with our alumni and administration on professional development and on building relationships with individuals in various areas of the law through seminars and networking events. Third, we bring awareness of social issues affecting minority communities to the Duke Law community. Finally, we are committed to ensuring minority youth have the same opportunity opportunities that we have been afforded, through our Durham community outreach programs.

I am proud to serve as this year’s president of Duke BLSA as we strive to implement new and exciting programs. Duke BLSA is open to any and all students who share our common goals. I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our organization. Thank you for visiting our site!

Best Regards,

Bud Baker
