The goal of the Residential Group Assessment Committee (RGAC) is to evaluate Selective Living Groups against their ideal selves and facilitate the apportionment of residential space.

This year’s evaluation will occur on November 7th and 8th 2009, and will be the third assessment in a three year cycle. Upon conclusion of this cycle, a shuffle is residential group locations will occur.

Groups in the top half of their size category (small, medium, or large) and have received a rating of 70 or higher will be allowed to squat in their quad and avoid the shuffle.

The RGAC Annual Assessment is founded upon the principle that housing for living groups (selective living groups, fraternities, and theme houses) is not a right, but rather, a privilege. The assessment process, conducted once every calendar year, will allow groups to display their contributions to their members and residents of their quad. Ultimately, it is understood, that a group’s presence brings the greatest value to its members, and should similarly provide benefits to the quad community.

The nature of the assessment will require that groups maintain a set of universal expectations. In addition, groups will have an equal opportunity to focus the direction of the assessment around aspects unique to the mission/purpose of the group.
